Week 10 Body Mechanics Polish

With George

In Week 10, the class focused on the polish stage of body mechanics animation. George gave me several clear suggestions to improve the quality and clarity of my motion.

First, he said the movement during the jump take-off should be softer and more exaggerated. The pose needs to show a clear C-pose or S-pose, so the body feels flexible and prepared before leaving the ground. This helps the jump feel more natural and powerful.

Second, during the roll, George pointed out that the rotation should be led by the head. The body should rotate around the head, creating two clear triangle shapes, one inverted and one upright. This makes the roll easier to read and improves the overall flow of the movement.

Finally, when the character stands up, the centre of gravity should clearly shift toward the supporting leg. This weight transfer is important to show balance and realism.

This feedback helped me understand how polish focuses on clarity, pose strength, and weight.
