Tutorial
This week, I finished the Storyboard Script for my Unreal short film The Death of Narcissus. During the tutorial with Serra, I shared my visual plan and symbolic ideas, such as the reflection, the flower, and the baby. Serra liked the concept and encouraged me to keep the mysterious and dreamlike atmosphere.
Serra suggested that I should make the story clearer for the audience.
She reminded me that my project uses many symbols and metaphors,
so I need to express them visually through light, motion, and texture, not only by story explanation.
She also advised me to research dreamlike visual styles,
such as using mist, blur, and soft lighting to build an emotional and poetic tone.
Next I will start collecting visual references for the dreamlike style, define the color scheme, and do some lighting and camera tests in Unreal Engine.
Serra suggested that I also start sketching the character and environment, even simple ones, to find the right feeling before 3D production. This process will help me build a stronger visual identity for my project.
